Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It was a huge part of my childhood, and I always knew it would be a big part of my life.

After training professionally in Musical Theatre, completing a First-Class BA (Hons) at Chichester Conservatoire and an MA with Distinction at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, I expected my career to centre around performing.

​

But whilst I loved performing, I found myself becoming increasingly fascinated by something else: the human voice itself.

​

The more I trained, the more I realised that every teacher seemed to have a different understanding of vocal technique. I left training confused and experiencing my own vocal challenges only fuelled my quest for answers. I couldn't accept the conflicting advice, so I made it my mission to understand why and how the voice worked.

 

That curiosity led me into the world of voice science and vocal pedagogy and it has shaped my career ever since, leading me to postgraduate study in Voice Pedagogy, qualification as a Vocal Health First Aider, and a commitment to continual professional development because I don't believe learning should ever stop.

Teaching was something that found me naturally. Throughout my training and professional career, I was always the person people came to for help. What began as a way of supporting my fellow performers gradually became the work I found most rewarding.​ Today, coaching is no longer something that sits alongside my performing career, it's the career I feel I was always destined to have and feel incredibly privileged to do every day. 

 

I work with singers of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to seasoned performers. My work spans private coaching, higher education, schools and community music, including teaching Musical Theatre students at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. I've also been fortunate to help students gain places at leading drama schools, prepare for auditions and performances, succeed in singing examinations and, perhaps most importantly, develop the confidence to trust their own voice.​

There's nothing quite like watching someone achieve something they never thought they could.​Whether it's a breakthrough or simply seeing a student leave a lesson standing a little taller than when they arrived, those moments are what inspire me every day.

​

My teaching is built on three principles:

• Every voice is unique
  Every lesson and every vocal journey should be too.

• Knowledge empowers confidence,
  I believe students should understand why they're doing something, not just how.

• Learning never stops.
  Voice science is always evolving, and I continually invest in professional development so my students benefit from coaching that evolves with it.

 

Above all, I believe singing should be accessible to everyone.​ 

 

You don't have to be born with an exceptional voice to experience the joy of singing. With the right guidance, knowledge and patience, everyone can develop their voice and learn to trust it. And my job isn't to make anyone rely on me. In fact, it's the opposite. It's to give people the tools and confidence to ​discovering what their voice is truly capable of.
