MEET JASMIN
The Woman Behind JAK Vocals

I fell in love with music at an early age, attending music schools from the age of three and theatre schools as a teenager. I then graduated from Chichester Conservatoire with a First-Class BA (hons) degree in Musical Theatre (Triple Threat) and Central School of Speech and Drama with an MA in Music Theatre with Distinction. Throughout my training, I have always marvelled over the mechanics of the human voice and I truly geeked out in my spare time. I quickly became well versed in many techniques, ranging from a classical style to the more modern Estill method.

Based on my own vocal training, I have developed a mindful, integrated approach to teaching and coaching that aims to connect with my clients on a personal level. I try to create a tailored vocal journey for each individual. During my 4 years of professional training in musical theatre and whilst working professionally in the performance industry, I have always had an interest in  vocal anatomy and voice production which sparked a passion for vocal tuition.

This grew into what is now:

JAK VOCALS

All levels of student are welcome. I've helped students with:

  • Professional/drama school auditions

  • Improving confidence

  • Musical skills, including theory

  • Growing a vocal awareness

  • Building vocal rigour and improving technique

  • Repertoire coaching and suggestions

  • OR simply fuelling an enjoyment for singing.

I also have experience teaching children and adult beginners in piano, guitar and ukulele, guiding them through musical grading systems such as ABRSM and Trinity (including Singing For Musical Theatre).

Alongside building and running a vocal coaching business from the bottom up, I have worked professionally in the performance industry for 4 years and continue to do so, appearing in a variety of shows with many different performance styles. See more about this HERE. I also have experience in professional industry auditions having personally auditioned for West End Musicals, Off West End runs, top standard Cruise Lines and more, as well is Fringe shows.

Eager to continue learning and growing to best help my students, I am very proud to have qualified as a Vocal Health First Aider and am now working towards a Postgraduate degree in Voice Pedagogy from Voice Study Centre (affiliated with UWTSD).

I look forward to hopefully working with and getting to know you! Feel free to get in touch and ask me more questions!
